Keep our focus on God, Eyes set toward Eternity, to be Kingdom minded through the mind of Christ! |
“But
thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and
manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every
place.” 2Cor.2:14 |
Dear Partners and
Prayer Warriors, There are times
throughout each of our lives that we desperately need a word from the
Lord. When those events occur, the possibilities become endless. Then
there is the challenge of telling the difference between the
whispers of the Holy Spirit
and the words from the evil one of this world. While sitting in church one Sunday morning, a sweet distinct aroma of fresh cut wood came to us, and at the same time, we each heard a word from the Lord. Two different words with two different visions but the same aroma of fresh cut wood. Neither of us realized until later, exactly what had happened and that it happened to both of us! This aroma did not dissipate from Doug and then the Holy Spirit whispered to him, “I can get your attention any way I want to; and usually it is through something good.” The odor of fresh cut wood from a very sharp saw painted a visual picture of a craftsman making something valuable from the raw material he started with.
After meditating on what this
could be about, the smell of fresh cut wood arose again and Doug was
given a vision of the cross Jesus carried and ultimately hung on. The
same cross that would bring about the finality of His sacrifice for the
salvation of mankind and the completion of the Master Craftsman’s work.
My vision was that of a sword
and this is what came: “For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12) The sword in the hands of the Master Craftsman can bring healing, but the same sword in the hands of man-“human” can hurt instead of heal. Just as Peter used his “physical” sword to cut off the ear of the high priest’s servant (John 18:10); the enemy, through man and wrong motives, can whisper the “Sword of the Spirit” (the Word of God) to hurt or deafen the heart of another. Jesus could have just as easily told Peter to hold his tongue in the same way He told Peter to put the sword away! Together, these visions tell a complete story of why Jesus came and the power of His Word. The holiday season
has arrived and we find ourselves getting ready to be reacquainted with
old friends and family. It will be an incredibly busy time of visiting,
shopping and cooking! It is a time for rejoicing and being thankful.
This year we want to encourage you to see things differently; while
staying in Christ, you will be able to see things in the spirit for what
they truly are so the enemy cannot steal, kill and destroy the
celebration and with it your fruits of the Spirit: Love, joy, peace,
patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, and self-control. (Gal. 5:22).
When the world becomes pushy, selfish and when people, with their
angry words, demand justice and want their way:
CHOOSE to be the example Jesus set before us as he healed
the ear of the high priest’s servant (Luke 22:51). The servant received
a touch from God that evening and though scripture doesn’t say anything
else about it, we know that servant was never the same again. He walked
away changed! No one can be the same after receiving a touch from the
LORD! So whether it is because
of the stress of the holiday happenings with family & friends, the lack
of time to get it all done or the strangers you meet in transit; prepare
yourself ahead of time by spending time pressing into the Father’s love
and let that same love be what others see and hear in you. Our prayer and hope
for you, and in all that you have planned, that you are well equipped
and your leading is by the aroma of the Holy Spirit! We want to take a moment and mention the Amazon Smile giving program. Loving People Enough Ministries has partnered with Amazon Smile.
